What Can Greek Life Do for You?
Leadership. Scholarship. Community Service. Campus Involvement. Friendship. Social Networking. These are just a few of the many benefits of joining a Greek organization at SUNY Geneseo. Becoming a member of a Greek organization has the potential to shape your time in Geneseo in the best possible way. Going Greek helps you make the most out of your college years.
Academic Eligibility Requirements for Fraternal Organizations
Returning Geneseo students will have earned a minimum of 12 Geneseo credits and at least a 2.0 GPA to be eligible to receive an offer of membership (bid) to a social fraternity/sorority. Students over the age of 21, and transfer students (as determined by their admit status) with at least 12 earned post-high school, college credits and minimum GPA of 3.25, are also considered eligible. All students must complete the grade release form via Knightweb. Transfer students must provide the Office of Fraternal Life with a copy of the unofficial transcript from their transfer institution to verify their eligibility. Freshmen are ineligible to join their first semester at Geneseo. Failure to abide by the eligibility requirements may result in College conduct action against the individual and the organization.
